Data Protection Policy

Last updated: March 15, 2026

This Data Protection Policy outlines how ClassPoint supports responsible handling of school, student, parent, and staff data through structured access controls, operational safeguards, and platform monitoring.

Data handled through the platform

ClassPoint is used to handle structured school data, including information relating to schools, staff, students, parents, classes, attendance, results, billing workflows, communications, and operational records.

This data is processed to support school administration and the day-to-day delivery of services across parent, student, teacher, and school-admin workflows.

Access control and operational safeguards

ClassPoint uses role-based access patterns to help schools control which users can view or act on different categories of information. This supports narrower access for teachers, parents, finance officers, leaders, and administrators based on job function.

We also use operational monitoring, audit records, and security-focused logging to detect incidents, investigate failures, and support accountability across key school workflows.

  • Role-based access for different school user types
  • Operational monitoring for critical platform services and incident response
  • Structured logs and audit trails to support accountability and troubleshooting
  • Managed infrastructure and standard network protections for hosted application traffic

Data minimization and retention

ClassPoint aims to process the information reasonably needed to operate the service and support school workflows. Schools should avoid uploading information that is unnecessary for their intended operational use of the platform.

Retention may vary based on school activity, operational needs, audit requirements, support obligations, and legal considerations. Schools remain responsible for their own retention choices, internal policy decisions, and the data they choose to keep in the service.

Incident handling and school responsibility

If ClassPoint identifies a material operational or security issue affecting the service, we may investigate, contain, and respond using appropriate technical and administrative measures available to us.

Schools remain responsible for their own internal policies, staff conduct, access assignments, and lawful basis for collecting, uploading, and using the student, parent, and staff data they place into the platform.
